The Vienna Girls' Choir was founded in 2004 as the female version of the world-renowned Vienna Boys' Choir (Wiener Sängerknaben), which dates back to 1498, when it was founded by the Ljubljana-born choirmaster and composer, as well as the first Bishop of Vienna, Jurij Slatkonja. Initially, the Vienna Girls' Choir consisted of only a few singers, but today it is a chamber choir of 25 dedicated young girls aged 9 to 15. The girls are trained according to the methods of the Vienna Boys' Choir. The choir regularly performs its own concerts at home venues, including the MuTh Hall, the Vienna Boys' Choir Concert Hall and the Hofburgkapelle (Court Chapel) in Vienna. The Vienna Boys' Choir can also be heard regularly on special occasions, such as the New Year's Concert of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra in 2023 or the concert celebrating the 525th anniversary of the Vienna Boys' Choir at the Musikverein in Vienna. The girls take part in numerous tours, both at home and abroad. Since autumn 2024, the girls have been following the same academic programme as the boys, attending the Vienna Boys' Choir Gymnasium in Vienna. The choir is conducted by Stefan Foidl, with Sophie Müller as their pedagogical director. At the upcoming concert in Ljubljana, the choir will present a cross-section of their wide repertoire, which ranges from Baroque to contemporary and from classical to lighter rhythms.

Zvezdana Novaković is a Slovenian artist exploring the boundaries of her musical and performative expression. In search of resonant singing in open voices, she has set out to explore folk songs from Slavic and Balkan cultures. She has worked with and learned from authentic singers from Bulgaria, Belarus, Serbia, Bosnia, Poland, Croatia and Slovenia. The product of five years of research is the Slovena Voices project, which features new compositions of folk songs by Zvezdana Novaković. The singers of the quartet, who sing in a specific open-voice technique that resonates and is rich in ornamentation, as well as other peculiarities of Slavic and Balkan cultures, will take us back to ancient times. In the performance of Slovena Voices, the ancient and the modern meet, contemporary classical composition is intertwined with jazz harmonies and improvisation with the sound of tradition.

4Given is a Slovenian vocal group which brings a fresh wave of gospel music to the Slovenian scene. The quartet has learned a distinctive expressiveness from local and foreign performers of Black spiritual music. This makes the singers so compelling that connoisseurs place them alongside even the most renowned representatives of this genre. With 4Given, gospel standards ring out in an authentic interpretation that few can match. From the very beginning, the singers have reimagined the arrangements of the songs, bringing in elements of vocal play, which is characterised by vocal imitation of various instruments, additional sounds, as well as effects, for a full and lush sound without the need for electronics. In addition to writing covers, the group also creates original material. The members of 4Given have made a significant contribution to the establishment and popularisation of this type of a cappella music in this country through their involvement in various groups and project ensembles, and they are increasingly sought after outside their homeland for their contemporary approach to Black spiritual music.
